The reason why there are many material differences in the hydraulic fluids Orings seal is mainly to be suitable for working in different fields. There is no absolute distinction between good and bad materials, but mainly depends on what material you need for the O-ring. The common ones are mainly nitrile O-rings and fluorine rubber O-rings
1. Fluorine rubber (FKM) has good ozone resistance, chemical resistance, and weather resistance, and its high-temperature resistance is also better than that of silicone rubber. The disadvantage is poor cold resistance. Generally used in fuel systems and sealing of chemical plants, it is not recommended to use it in mixtures of ketones and nitrates. Operating temperature: -20 ℃~+220 ℃.
2. Nitrile (NBR) is used at temperatures ranging from -30 ℃ to+120 ℃, with good wear resistance. The sealing ring made of this material has the lowest cost and is most widely used. It is mostly used in media such as gasoline, water, silicone oil, and glycol based hydraulic oil, and is not suitable for use in polar solutions such as ozone and ketone based nitrohydrocarbons.
3. The service temperature of hydrogenated Nitrile rubber (HNBR): -40 ℃~+150 ℃. This rubber has good corrosion resistance, Compressibility resistance, tear resistance, and resistance to ozone, sunlight, and oil pollution. It is suitable for use in automotive engines, washing machines, and new ring refrigeration systems, but cannot be used in esters, alcohols, and aromatic solvents.
