Are FKM and VITON™ the same?

They are the same material, but the different name of Fluoro-Elastomer.

FKM is the American Standard ASTM short form name. It is the name given to approximately 80% of the Fluoro-Elastomers defined by ASTM D1418.

VITON™ is a registered trademark of Du Pont performance elastomers, the rubber's original developers. However, Viton is also used as a generic term for the material, regardless of who manufactures it.

FPM is the international abbreviation for Fluoro-Elastomer (1629 standard).

Do they different in performance?

Yes, they are more or less different on physical performance, but almost the same at chemical resistant performance.

O ring is our core product, especially the O ring with various fluorone rubber, short in FKM. FKM O ring occupies our around 90% stock. The rest 10% stock are VA, VS and ED seal rings with material FKM and NBR.

HALF-STANDARD PRODUCTS

Above are all standard sizes, we also have some half-standard products. Flange gasket, hose filter washer, water pump gasket, butterfly valve seat. Some of them may have standard, but have little different in details. For example, flange gasket don’t have standard of the thickness.
