The function of the pneumatic cylinder rod seal ring

The piston rod's sealing ring and sealing structure are crucial parts of the reciprocating motion mechanism. It has an impact on the functionality and longevity of the overall machine equipment in addition to the leaking problem. The piston rod primarily carries a specific axial force and reciprocates at a specific speed to conduct external work when it is in reciprocating motion. Reciprocal motion is becoming more and more in demand as science, technology, and business advance, particularly where high-pressure and high-speed motion are involved. For piston rods, the sealing ring and structure are extremely crucial.

A combination sealing ring, such as a step seal, is made up of two distinct parts: an O-ring, which serves as an elastic element and secondary sealing effect, and a stepped sealing ring, which is the main sealing element and is constructed of polytetrafluoroethylene and bronze packing. The combination sealing ring (step seal) features exceptionally low leakage, anti-wear, no crawling during starting, and low friction resistance. Combining the use of sealing rings prevents metals from coming into contact, increases support capacity, absorbs some lateral pressures, minimizes friction, and is appropriate for high-pressure and high-speed systems. Through experimentation, it has been verified.
