What are the differences between quad sealing rings and O-rings?
1. Differences in interface structure
The cross-section of the quad sealing ring is a star shaped, also known as an X shape. The O-ring interface is an O-ring, also known as a circular ring.
2. Differences in cost
The manufacturing cost of quad sealing rings is high, resulting in high usage costs. The O-ring was invented early, has a wide range of applications, and has lower usage costs.
3. Differences in operating speed.
The applicable environmental speed for quad sealing rings is: reciprocating motion: ≤ 0.5m/s. Rotating motion: ≤ 2m/s
The applicable environmental speed for the O-ring is: reciprocating motion: ≤ 0.5m/s. Rotating motion: ≤ 2m/s
4. Differences in usage environment.
The quad sealing ring has no mold line in its structure, while the O-ring mold line is relatively obvious. Therefore, the star shaped sealing ring can be applied to both liquid media and gas sealing, and the O-ring is more suitable for sealing liquid media.
5. Differences in specifications, dimensions, and standards.
The quad seal ring is applicable to the standard size of AS568 series, with limited specifications.
There are many sizes and specifications of O-ring, including American standard AS568 series, Japanese standard JISB2401 standard (P series, S series, G series, SS series), as well as Chinese national standard GB3452.1-92 and GB1235-76 series, ISO-3601/1 international standard, and German DIN3771 standard.
Jiacheng New Material (SJK) provides professional quad rings sealing in material NBR and FKM. Also support customzied other material such as EPDM, FVMQ and etc materials in non standard sizes.
