The quad seal ring is a four lip seal with a shape similar to X, so it is also called X-ring. Its performance has been improved on the basis of O-ring. Its standard size is completely the same as American standard AS568 series, which can replace most O-ring occasions.

The X ring NBR ring is a double acting seal with elastic sealing capacity. The pre compression during initial installation generates radial or axial contact stress and system pressure to achieve sealing function.

Compared with the O-ring, the X ring NBR has smaller friction resistance and starting resistance because it forms a lubrication chamber between the sealing lips. Since the flash position is at the concave part of the section, the sealing effect is good. Non circular section to avoid rolling in reciprocating motion.

Another aspect which is similar to O ring is the material. Besides NBR, FKM is the other common material used to produce X quad seal ring. Off course, you can choose other type of rubbers which suit for your working conditions.
