The main and traditional purpose of a grommet rubber seal is to protect the wires from being cut by the metal plate by clamping on the metal plate with wires in the middle. More and more applications are developed, For example, can be used to fix the straw to the middle of the cup cover.

There are generally three types of grommet. The most common used is through hole. The other two are elliptic and intermediate diaphragm. Select different types of products according to different use environments.

For example, with a through hole, the impurities or dust will enter the product if the wire is threaded in the middle. In this situation, a grommet with intermediate diaphragm can solve this problem well. Relatively, it will be a little troublesome to install and use.

According to the purpose of grommet rubber seal, except some will have requests of RoHS or REACH, there are industry requirements need to be met. For example, the flame retardant level, such as UL94-V0, is needed in special electronic instruments and equipments.
