What is the relationship between pressure resistant and high pressure o ring material?

Pressure resistance refers to the ability of rubber sealing materials to be used under high pressure without large deformation and damage. Compression permanent deformation and hardness are important indexes reflecting pressure resistance.

The hardness of rubber is directly related to the pressure resistance. The rubber material with high pressure resistance must have high hardness, and its cross-linking density will be relatively large. At the same time, with the increase of cross-linking density, its permanent deformation will also become smaller.

High hardness rubber can withstand extrusion damage under high pressure, so appropriate hardness can be selected according to the working characteristics of parts. We generally use Shore A hardness tester to measure the hardness of rubber, which is close to the international rubber hardness value (IRHD).

Select the appropriate material hardness according to the working pressure. The general principle is to use high hardness materials for high pressure and low hardness materials for low pressure.
