Color: Brown, black, green, as you need

Based on so many years of experience, many of our custom will prefer brown or green rather than black FKM rubber Oring. One of the reason is that in their mind that black is NBR, and only brown or green is FKM o rings. And the main reason is that front-line workers can not distinguish the FKM and NBR. To avoid loss or accident, they will they will choose color to distinguish the two.

Also, most of factories who have more or less request on performance will prefer black FKM rubber Orings. To help you to distinguish FKM and NBR, below listed are three common methods we use.

1. Calculate the specific gravity. The specific gravity of fluororubber is very large, about 2.0. The specific gravity of NBR is only about 1.5.

2. In terms of color, the color of fluororubber compound is not so black, but a little gray, because fluororubber is reinforced with carbon black with large particle size, NBR uses carbon black below N770, and the carbon black with small particle size is commonly used. The color will be dark, exaggerated, and a little black makes it shiny, while fluororubber does not

3. Combustion method Take the flame of the lighter and burn it for 8 seconds. If the butyronitrile is seen to have started burning at this time, and there is a strong smell of raw rubber, while the fluororubber will not burn, and the smell is very light, a little like the smell of traditional Chinese medicine cinnamon
