What is vulcanized EPDM O-ring

Rubber becomes soft when heated, hard and brittle when cooled, difficult to form, easy to wear, and soluble in organic solvents such as gasoline. It has double bonds in the molecule, easy to undergo Addition reaction, and easy to age. In 1839, Goodyear unintentionally produced vulcanized rubber.

In order to improve the performance of rubber products, a series of processing processes need to be carried out on raw rubber in production. Under certain conditions, the raw rubber in the rubber material undergoes a chemical reaction with the vulcanizing agent, causing it to cross link from linear structured macromolecules into three-dimensional network structured macromolecules, thereby enabling the rubber material to have excellent properties such as high strength, high elasticity, high wear resistance, corrosion resistance, etc. This process is called rubber vulcanization.
