Methods to prevent O-rings from being twisted and damaged

1) The concentric size of the O-ring installation groove should be considered in terms of ease of processing and no deformation. 2) The cross-sectional size of the O-ring should be uniform, and the sealing part should be fully coated with lubricating oil or grease every time it is installed.

Felt ring oilers soaked in lubricating oil are also sometimes used.

3) Increase the cross-sectional diameter of the O-ring, and the cross-sectional diameter of the O-ring that drives the seal should generally be larger than the cross-sectional diameter of the static seal with the O-ring; in addition, the use of the O-ring as a seal for large-diameter pistons should be avoided.

4) When deformation and damage occur under low pressure, the sealing ring can be used to protect the retaining ring.

5) Reduce the surface roughness of the cylinder and piston rod.

6) The O-ring is made of low friction coefficient material.

7) The O-ring can be replaced by a sealing ring that is not easily deformed.
