Mechanical seal installation tutorial
1. Overview of mechanical seals
Mechanical seal is an axial sealing device for rotating shafts with high sealing performance and long life. It is widely used in machinery and equipment in chemical, petroleum, food, pharmaceutical and other industries. This tutorial will introduce you to the installation steps and precautions of mechanical seals in detail.
2. Installation steps
1. Preparation
(1) Check whether the mechanical seal model is correct and ensure that the accessories are complete.
(2) Clean the shaft surface to ensure there are no burrs, cracks and other defects.
(3) Prepare tools and installation site to ensure sufficient light.
2. Open the seal package
(1) Open the seal package and check whether the seals and accessories are intact.
(2) Place seals and accessories in a safe, dry place to avoid dust and contamination.
3. Install the seal
(1) Place the seal on the shaft and ensure that it is in the correct and flat position.
(2) Fix the seal on the shaft with screws and ensure that the tightening torque meets the requirements.
(3) During installation, care should be taken to prevent the seal from being damaged and to avoid entraining impurities or scratching the seal.
4. Adjust seals
(1) Manually rotate the shaft and check whether the seal rotates freely and there is no sticking phenomenon.
(2) Adjust the pressing force of the seal compression spring so that the gap between the sealing surface in the axial direction is 0.15~0.25mm.
(3) After adjustment, ensure that the seal and the shaft fit tightly and there is no leakage.
5. Detection after installation
(1) Introduce liquid or gas, rotate the shaft for testing, and check whether the sealing performance is good.
(2) If leakage is found, stop the machine immediately for inspection, and then reinstall after troubleshooting.
