On material, besides rubber bushing, polyurethane (can shortened to “poly” or “urethane”) is another common material used. Off course, there are many other material choices for you.

Compared to polyurethane one, there are mainly two advantages of the rubber bushings. The first one is the cost of rubber is lower. The second one is that rubber is much softer than poly, so rubber bushing works better at warding off noise and vibrations than poly bushings.
