How to choose the material of gas rubber seal?

When gas is a form, there are types of gas, such as gasoline, natural gas, oxygen, etc. Each one has one or several types of rubber seals.

For example, on crude oil exploitation, AED (Anti-Explosive Decompression) is always requested on important positions. With this situation, only few choices for you. FEPM and HNBR gas rubber seal is widely used as AED seals. If you have enough budget, FFKM also a good choice as AED seal. Off course, for other positions, FKM is also another popular material to choose.

Consider of the cost and mode or time of use, NBR as the material for gas rubber seal is a good choice. Especial the NBR with high acrylonitrile content, its gasoline and oil resistant performance is better than common NBR, but it still is not a good choice for long time use. However, its weather and aging resistant is not such good.

FKM is another common choice for gas rubber sea. FKM has good performance on media resistant and high temperature resistant. Compared to the NBR, FKM has longer service life on gas sealing, such as natural gas, gasoline. The disadvantage is that its low temperature resistant is not such good.

We used to provide a HNBR gas rubber seal for the city pipeline gas valve in very northern area, its life expectancy is 10 years.
