There is a saying that there is no best material, only has the most suitable material.

Additionally, there are types of gasoline. One material may good at gasoline A, but not good at gasoline B. Here we list some material comparison and our experience.

Case 1

We used to supply seals which is installed on outdoor cookers. The fuel of the cooker is gasoline, and the seal we supply is high acrylonitrile content NBR. There are mainly 3 reasons to choose the NBR. First, the seal is not soaked in the gasoline. Second, this is a consumable and easy to replace. Last, our custom do not has enough budget to use FKM.

Case 2

We supply FKM O rings for a sensor factory, and there sensor is used in gasoline station to detect the oil level. So it soaked in the gasoline.

Low temperature range: HNBR = NBR lower than FKM

High temperature range: FKM > HNBR > NBR

Gasoline resistant: FKM > HNBR > NBR (based on the same acrylonitrile content of NBR and HNBR)

The price is HNBR > FKM > NBR

Wear resistant is HNBR > NBR > FKM
