Types of V ring seal
V-shaped water seal ring has basically four standard structural forms of VA, VS, VE and VL. Others such as VXL, is not such common.
Jiacheng New Material (SJK) has VA and VS rings in stock with material black NBR and brown FKM.
How V ring seal works
V ring is an axial rubber seal ring. Unlike general rotary oil seals, V-ring forms axial sealing effect by its elastic sealing lip. The sealing lip has good mobility and adaptability, so compared with other seals, it can compensate for larger deviation and angle deviation.
Appilications of V ring
V-ring can be used for non pressure axial seal on the surface of rotating shaft and bearing cover. Because of its simple structure, convenient use and high reliability, V-shaped water seal greatly reduces the design workload of relevant grooves and installation. Therefore, V ring seal has been widely used in industrial engineering, water treatment equipment, rolling machine, lathe and other fields.
Characteristic of V ring seal
The V ring seal is fixed on the shaft by its own elastic tension, and the disturbing sealing lip keeps contact with the surface of the shaft seat with a small contact force. The flexible sealing lip can compensate the eccentricity of the shaft, the different axial degrees between the cavity and the shaft and the machining error of the shaft. The sealing lip can prevent the internal grease or oil from leaking out and prevent the external dust and dirt from invading.
As the V ring seal bearing rotates, its body acts like a slip ring due to the centrifugal force to prevent dirt from invading the working medium. Unlike other oil seals, the V ring seal forms a radial sealing effect by its elastic sealing lip. The sealing lip has good mobility and adaptability, so it needs small tolerance and simple design compared with other sealing parts, and at the same time, it can make up for the eccentric problem of the rotating shaft.
