The piston rod of the oil cylinder is covered in an oil film layer. When using oil cylinders, dust or sand particles are frequently present. These particles stick to the oil film on the piston rod's surface and can be drawn into the cylinder, where they can scratch the lip edge of the lip-shaped sealing ring or the piston rod's surface and cause a small leak. As a result, a dust ring must be installed close to the end face of the cylinder barrel, outside of the piston rod sealing ring.

The hydraulic rod wiper seal is installed in the groove, and due to a certain amount of interference between the lip edge of the dust ring and the piston rod, the lip edge of the dust ring is tightly attached to the surface of the piston rod.

The piston rod moves back and forth, and the dust and sand particles adhering to the surface of the piston rod are removed by the dust ring. There is a certain gap between the right section of the dust ring lip and the piston rod, which can reduce the frictional resistance between the dust ring lip and the piston rod.
