There are two types of metal water pump gasket. One is metal bonded rubber at the hole edges. The other one, whose total thickness is 0.38-1mm, is the whole metal pad coated by rubber.

The metal part of metal water pump gasket commonly is 0.25mm. Materials can chose from aluminum, iron, stainless steel, copper, etc.

Do not worry that the rubber part of metal water pump gasket would be separated to the metal part. They were vulcanized together, so there is high bond strength.
